This is not so much a tradition as a concept. Other names include Green Witch, Hedge Witch, Kitchen Witch to name a few.
The idea of the Green or Hedge Witch is that they follow no dogma or creed, but rather let their intuition guide them. Green Witches tend to be solitary by nature. Although there is no standard set of precepts or formal initiation. It is generally accepted that a solitary that studies for a year and a day may become a priest/priestess in this tradition, although they are not likely to be able to 'transfer' their creditentials to another, more structured tradition. The solitary borrows from many traditions, choosing what works best for them, and usually (obviously) studies and practices alone. They may sometimes work with others to achieve a common end, but do not 'do' hierachical coven structures.
